From Iowa to Goldman Sachs to AI automation

Nate was born in April 2002 and graduated from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business with a double major in Business Analytics and Marketing. While there, he developed a foundation in data, analytics, and communication through roles like Business Student Ambassador and leadership positions in student organizations.

After graduation, he moved to Salt Lake City to work as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Goldman Sachs, where he built dashboards and process automations for internal teams. Working with tools like Alteryx and modern BI stacks, he saw how much leverage automation could create, and how limited traditional rule-based systems were compared to what AI could unlock.

Discovering n8n and AI agents

In 2024, Nate started experimenting with n8n, APIs, and large language models to build AI agents that could execute real business processes. He shared his experiments publicly, including AI agents that analyze video, run outreach, and generate content end-to-end, often without writing a single line of code.

As his posts and tutorials took off, he developed a repeatable 5-step process for building effective AI agents and workflows, starting with foundations, mapping the process, choosing between workflows vs agents, and shipping fast proof-of-concepts with strong guardrails. That method became the backbone of his courses and is now used by thousands of students to land their first AI automation clients and build AI automation agencies.

Nate is the Founder and CEO of AI Automation Society, a global community dedicated to helping people learn, build, and deploy real-world AI automations regardless of coding background. What began in October 2024 as a small free group to share YouTube resources has grown into one of the most active AI automation hubs online, now serving well over 440,000 members worldwide.

TrueHorizon AI worked with major brands including Topgolf, BarkBox, and other enterprise companies, helping them design and deploy AI automation solutions that drove measurable business results.
